Evidence of Evolution (moved from CreationWiki:Coffeehouse)
A population of Hawthorn Flies in North America can Only eat the Indroduced Apples, Showing that at the very least animals above the bacterial scale can adapt to their environment.—unsigned comment by Staiger59 (talk • contribs)
Ok, how can I say this without being mean... This is like saying 1+1=2 supports chaos theory. This "evidence" is a prediction of pretty much every possible theory biology. It only proves that organisms can adapt to thier enviroment. Please tell ANY creationist who refuses to believe that.
In fact, when ever this kind of stuff happens, it makes me very happy. Rapid changes in organisms support the idea of rapid adaption after the Flood. I believe in evolution, but not in Evolution.

- You are indeed correct. It is only variation and not the totality of evolution. They will persist however that it is and extrapolate from the observed change to prove that in a million years the fly will be a frog. While creation scientists only rely on the observed small change, evolutionists do not and cannot if they want there theory to have any merit. --Tony Sommer 15:39, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
- (Tony beat me to posting) From the description given here, this seems to be an evidence in favor of Creationism and an obstacle for molecules to man Evolution. It seems likely that the flies would have all been able to eat the introduced apples to begin with. Then some flies broke off from the more adaptable flies and lost the ability to eat anything else. Thus it fits in with the kind of rapid speciation that is predicted by the flood model, and flies (excuse the pun) in the face of molecules to man Evolution, which requires an increase in organized complexity. Allowing for the possibility that this line of reasoning is wrong, however, it would be nice to see a reference showing the finer nature of this adaptation. --Zephyr Axiom 15:42, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
