Stuart C. Burgess, BSc, PhD(Brun), CEng, FIMechE, is a professor of engineering design at University of Bristol in United Kingdom. His area of ​​research is the design of mechanical systems[1] , including the study of design in nature.[2] Professor Stuart Burgess is a creationist.[3]

Burgess was the principal investigator in a two-year project by the University of Bristol to develop "one of the world's most accurate test rigs for measuring the efficiency of bicycle chain transmissions," which was used for the UK cycling team in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Olympic team won a record 11 medals, including six gold and four silver, far more than any other nation that year (the next highest nation received two total medals).[4][5] Burgess "won multiple awards for his engineering design work, holds seven patents, and even designed parts of rockets and spacecraft for the European Space Agency."[5] Burgess is a clear example of how creationists can be real scientists.
