Rabbi Sherwin Theodore Wine (January 25, 1928 – July 21, 2007) was a rabbi and a founding figure in Humanistic Judaism.[1]

He is the founder of the Society for Humanistic Judaism, in 1969. His movement within Judaism emphasizes secular Jewish culture and Jewish history rather than belief in God as sources of Jewish identity. He states

I find no adequate reason to accept the existence of a supreme person.[2]
